DMBQ, c’est voir un groupe de rock lâcher les chevaux. Commencer d’une façon tout ce qu’il y a de plus convenable, avant de partir complètement en vrille au bout d’une demi-heure de show. Je les avais vu une première fois, il y a plus d’un an, en amorce du live de Ligthning Bolt (avant d’interviewer ces derniers justement) Et si les mecs de Lightning Bolt ont une réputation de sauvageons, c’etait clairement le groupe japonais qui avait dynamité la salle à l’époque.
Cette année rebelote. Le guitariste, ultra charismatique, qui saute de partout, fait de la guitare avec sa bouche, mange ( !!) sa guitare, jette sa guitare, frappe sa guitare. Le bassiste et sa chevelure dingue, qui semble en communion totale avec les projecteurs, tant qu’il ne tente pas de grimper sur les enceintes du coté de scène. Le batteur et son short moulant jaune fluo, qui fait crier les demoiselles de son corps moite. Et Shinji Masuko, membre des Boredoms, et chanteur de DMBQ donc, qui martyrise sa gratte tout en bouffant son micro.
Le live se déroule tranquille entre excavations rock et charges expérimentales. Puis viendra le moment hallucinant, la seconde où tout bascule, celle où tu te demandes si tu ne rêve pas, si tu ne vis pas ta dernière heure : Le chanteur s’arme de son “masque à gaz micro” (un ingénieux système où l’on coince le micro dans un masque à gaz, ce qui permet de continuer de chanter/hurler tout en sautant dans la foule). Bref le bonhomme plonge sur le public, qui lui déchire/arrache le pantalon en passant, action confirmant l’intérêt de porter une culotte en public (ou un caleçon, une chaussette, ce que vous voulez). La teub à l’air, il remonte sur scène pour cacher tout ça avec du scotch hardcore genre Duct Tape pour déménagements (il a du bien s’amuser à enlever le bordel en coulisses), en attendant que le batteur installe sa batterie SUR le public, (oui dessus) public qui tient chaque partie du matos à bout de bras, en plus du siège du drummer japonais qui part un solo rythmico-humain toujours aussi hallucinant à regarder. Le reste du groupe est soit perché sur une enceinte, soit à hurler dans la foule, soit à faire un solo halluciné les yeux fermés alors que c’est la putain d’apocalypse autour de lui. A en devenir groupie pour la vie.
Sinon, il y a des photos du Live de Boris aussi, live plutôt sympa dans ses grandes lignes, alternant rock de stade monotone et fresques drone-shoegaze-doom bien branlées, qui te cassent la nuque et te font vibrer les viscères. C’était cool, mais on préfère les arpenter sur disque. Le public a failli mourir asphyxié par les fumées par contre, on se serait cru dans l’apart d’un fan de bob marley qui tente de faire un barbecue mais provoque un incendie en grillant ses rideaux. Beaucoup de fumée donc.

On dirait vraiment une scene de film d’horreur, zombie sortant de sa batterie, et la fumée est nickel dessus (alors que c’etait l’horreur pour prendre des photos vu la tonne de fumée émanant de la scène ! )
