Ce fut ni l’un, ni l’autre. Ecouté en boucle pendant une nuit, écrasé par le manque de sommeil, un néon grésillant dans mon salon, le chat ronflant sur un bout du canapé, ce Gabriel Garzon-Montano qui me susurre l’amour sur des instrues enfumées m’a fait un effet bœuf.
Le plus drôle, c’est que ce petit EP regorge de tubes parfaits. Et des morceaux à se damner. Le premier choc, bien placé au milieu de la galette, c’est Pour Maman. Quand je parle d’un choc, ce n’est pas celui qui vous fait découvrir de nouveaux horizons musicaux, ou celui qui vous arrache la colonne vertébrale. Un truc qui fait vrombir les âmes, trembler les murs et pleurer les voisins. Un truc qui tabasse la nuque, et fait friser les duvets. Tremble Dj Darky, reste en Allemagne, le beat parfait est ici.
Tu as la mélodie, à chialer, qui s’installe à pas feutrés sur ce cœur battant, exsudant de lave. Puis le chant, timide, modeste, apaisé. Une gratte électrique fait son trou, te tire de l’hypnose, et toi tu te laisse aller, clope au bec ou bière à la main, à basculer ton cou d’avant en arrière. Claquer des doigts. Alors forcément, après un sommet pareil, tu sais qu’il sera difficile de trouver les mêmes émotions sur le reste de l’EP. Et tu n’as pas tort, tu ne la retrouveras pas. Par contre, les érections, les sourires, l’envie de courir dans un champ de fleurs en hurlant, de danser comme un derviche tourneur avec les pupilles dilatées, pas de soucis. Tu as Keep On Running, tube absolu du disque, qui commence comme un r’n’b goguenard, avec un clavier de fou, va vite basculer sur un refrain absolu. Le refrain que tu as toujours eu envie de chanter, avec ton amour, tes futurs enfants, tes potes, ton boss. Dans le métro aussi, avec tous ces inconnus qui tirent tous la gueule. Genre on aurait tous des parapluies multicolores que l’on balancerait autour de nous, avec des supers pas de danse, un peu comme dans Windowlicker, mais sans les trumeaux, avec des vraies belles filles dont tu tombes amoureux au premier regard. Et puis du soleil. Beaucoup de soleil. Dans un monde parfait, ce morceau grillerait toutes les radios et ferrait danser toutes les g i r l du monde. On se contentera de se dandiner dans son appart, ou sous la douche, seul, un savon dans la main gauche, et ce que tu veux dans la droite.
Bon il y a aussi Naeja, qui pourrait sembler bizarre dans son amorce, avant de partir dans une soul émo folle, chant parfaitement altéré par un simili-vocoder, couplet imparable couplé à un non-refrain qui plait à coup sur, à chialer de bonheur à force d’onduler le cou. C’est minimaliste en diable, il ne se passe que le strict nécessaire, l’instrue est rachitique, tout en étant parfaite. Pop renversée, négatif de tube, un vrai tour de force. Après, si tu aimes les choses plus évidentes, il y a aussi un Everything is everything, qui n’a rien d’embarrassant contrairement à ce qu’énonçait la blonde droguée. On navigue dans les eaux funk qui n’ont jamais autant sonnées à la mode. Oui je suis succinct pour les descriptions des morceaux, parce que j’ai hâte que vous arriviez à la fin de l’article et écouter l’album.
Mr Gabriel Garzon offrira même un couple de morceaux moins évidents, avec un 6 8 mélancolique en diable, entre complainte de bar enfumé dans les bas fonds de Chicago, tempo ralenti et ligne de basse parfaite. En ouverture de disque, ça pourra rebuter ceux qui ont échoué sur Bishouné pour remuer du popotin, mais ravira les grands mal rasés à l’aorte cassée. Me Alone, plus long morceau du bordel (on approche des six minutes) offrira plus de surprise, avec cette soul electro concassé, partant dans tous les sens, bourrés de bugs sonores, de synthés putes discrets et d’un chant plus affirmé, en mutation constante. On est très très proche d’un exercice à la Super_Collider, qui étaient décidemment bien en avance. Le morceau laissera petit à petit des chœurs désabusés débouler graduellement, du plus bel effet.
J’ai enfin compris pourquoi mon pote m’a filé cet Ep : parce ce qu’il défonce. On va faire simple, cet Ep est une vraie claque. Douce, feutrée, mais au combien marquante. Certains titres frôlent la perfection (Pour Maman, Keep On Running, Me Alone sont fous) et l’EP Bishouné devrait très facilement se classer dans les meilleures sorties de l’année, sans forcer. Je ne sais pas d’ou Gabriel Garzon-Montano sort, ce qu’il avait fait (à part du gospel, il paraît). Une vraie belle découverte, pour nuit blanche ou soirées enfumées. Pour faire l’amour ou mourir esseulé.
