On ne va pas chercher à faire de la fausse pub, ou mettre en avant de fausses pensées. Pas de favoritisme, du Hyacinthe dans ces pages, il n’y en a pas eu depuis son premier Ep officiel il y a deux ans. Et ce n’est pas faute de vouloir en parler tous les jours. Mais j’ai attendu, j’ai rongé mon frein, pour parler de l’implacable. L’intelligence de l’instrue, la violence des phrases, la rage du reste. Ca gerbe sa tristesse, ça suinte la mélancolie, et dans sa tête, c’est la merde, mais il en rigole. Ca me rappelle quand j’étais plus jeune, que j’avais envie de bouffer la planète, de me frapper le torse en hurlant parce que j’avais envie d’être heureux, de faire des trucs. Je ne savais pas quoi faire, je tournais en rond, je ne faisais rien à par dégueuler des mots sur une page word. Hyacinthe, je l’envie. Il est jeune, mais il roule déjà sur le monde. Il a su quoi faire, et il est déjà plus fort que nous. Alors là, il revient, il éructe sur du Ital Tek, puis il feule sur du Krampfshaft. Ce double clip, c’est pour annoncer un deuxième album, et crois moi, ça va être assez magnifique. Parfois vulgaire mais tout est vrai ? Ouai. Et, depuis l’autre bout du globe, hâte de redire bonjour à Hyahya.
PNL – J’comprends pas
Les gars de PNL, ils m’avaient foutu une tarte gigantesque avec leur “Je vis je visser“. Ce n’etait pas nouveau, mais 1/ l’instrue était magnifique 2/ ça transpirait la sincérité, et franchement, dans le rap français, c’est quelque chose de plus en plus rare (= en voie de disparition). L’album est annoncé pour 2015, quelques extraits qui raffalent bien, mais pas de claque similaire au titre précédant. Et voilà que déboule J’Comprends pas. Alors déjà, point important, d’où vient cette instrue ? Elle est putain de magnifique. On croirait entendre un Métro Boomin dépressif après avoir trop trainé dans un RER. Cette instrue, c’est un diamant fou, un truc qui écrase la majorité des productions à gros budgets (un comble vu que les mecs semblent sortis de nul part). Mais PNL, c’est aussi la science de la mélodie, et si l’on était déjà convaincu que les mecs balançaient les meilleurs refrains du rap français actuellement, celui de J’Comprends Pas est le coup de grâce, la confirmation. Pour finir, dans cette overdose de mecs qui se croient à Chicago alors qu’ils ne trainent qu’à Lille, PNL aligne du spontané, de l’entier, sans ellipse. C’est coupé au cordeau, on n’est pas dans le conte, dans le glamour, c’est un putain de documentaire. Les gros balaises font du rap filmé par Micheal Bay. Chez PNL, c’est du rap sans filtre, camera à l’épaule. Du vécu. Du sale, du violent, certes. Mais du vécu.
Sonny Digital – Everything feat Chevy Woods
Je ne sais pas pourquoi je n’ai pas mis Sonny Digital comme ‘Man Of The Year’ dans mon top de l’année dernière. Enfin, si : j’ai tout simplement oublié. Et pourtant, le bonhomme méritait tous les louanges. Morceau de l’année avec “I’m the Man“, coup de grâce avec “Good”, sans oublier les productions implacables pour Drake & Makkonen (mythique Tuesday), Que ou Wiz (OUY, cet alien)… Le mec semble faire un sans faute pour le moment, tout droit sorti des profondeurs des mixtapes de Gucci Mane pour marcher aujourd’hui sur le hiphop comme un Guingamp sur la ligue 1 : il ne sera jamais le premier, mais il aura toujours l’air plus sympa que les autres. Et quand tu ne t’y attends pas, quand tu baisses ta garde, boum, il te sodomise en pleine lucarne. Alors on guette chacun de ses mouvements, et avec Everything feat Chevy Woods, on est a nouveau dans le dur. Production magnifique (pouvait t’il en être autrement ?), ultra puissante et émo dans le même mouvement, avec refrain dépressivo-parfait. On pense secrètement que le morceau est trop court, avec une conclusion superbe mais frustrante, et l’on attend surtout un gros projet du bonhomme. Parce qu’avec un talent pareil, on en viendrait presque à croire que des bretons pourraient régner sur l’Europe.
Dj Paypal – I’m Ready
Bon là tu va cliquer sur la video, et tu vas me dire, “c’est quoi ce bordel ?”. Ca te fait penser à du vieux Daedelus, et son chef d’œuvre Denies The Day’s Demise, en mode brasil matiné de drogue. Mais ce morceau, qui joue la samba hystérique, renferme bien d’autres secrets. Ce truc, c’est le tube débile de l’année, la montée jouissive qui fera bouger tous les bassins en mode épilepsie. Dans les clubs ! Dans les clubs putain, il faut jouer ça dans les clubs ! Le temps que tu lises ces lignes, tu en es encore qu’à 1 minute du morceau environ, et tu ne comprends pas. Tu te dis que ce Dj Paypal c’est marrant, mais que bon, de la house brésilienne balancée à plein régime, ce n’est pas nouveau. Tu te dis presque que c’est chiant, que tu as cliqué sur la mauvaise vidéo, que mon Selector est raté. Et puis là, tout d’un coup, à partir de 1min45, tu tends l’oreille, tu te marres, tu te sens con, et tu hurles HOLY FUCK IL Y A T’IL UN MOMENT PLUS CATCHY ET TUBESQUE QUE CE TRUC DEPUIS LE DEBUT DE 2015 ?!? La réponse : non.
Burial – Temple Sleepers
On avait laissé Burial sur des morceaux presque pop, des fresques légères plus proches d’une Katy Perry sous Rivotril que d’un morceau de UK Garage hardcore. Comme toujours, l’anglais est scruté, attente folle et constante. Et voilà qu’en ce début 2015, même pas sur Hyperdub, Burial balance un titre original sur un vinyle obscur. Oubliez les voix sucrées et quasi-refrains, Bubu revient au dancefloor, au Uk Garage saupoudré de club. Ca balance des synthés drogués, ça cartouche un rythme envolé, et ça part même en pure jungle oldschool sur le dernier tiers. Avant une conclusion complètement cinglée, à filer la frousse, redescente de drogue violente et psychotique. On ne comprend plus trop ce qui se passe, ça part presque en best-of hit machine. Et bizarrement, ce sont ces 60 dernières secondes, complètement folles, Mr Bungle en mode techno, qui sont les plus belles. Les plus éloignées de ce que fait l’anglais. Mais les plus belles du morceau. En espérant que le bonhomme se mette soudainement à faire de la musique pour camés en pleine overdose. Et comme toujours avec Burial, c’est les voix pitchées, c’est les âmes errantes, c’est les clubs en dépression. Et c’est toujours aussi fou.
Ta-Ha – Lil Bit
J’ai un contentieux avec l’imagerie actuelle du r’n’b drogué actuel, oscillant entre année 90 et seapunk camé. J’adore, et c’est une des directions que je prends très régulièrement avec mes photos. Mais dans ce foisonnement hystérique, on peine à distinguer le vrai du mimétisme. Pour un The Weeknd, combien de parodies ? Pour un Bones, combien de vidéos youtube moches à se planter des clous dans les yeux ? Et souvent, on privilégie l’imagerie à la qualité, et peu peuvent se prévaloir d’être aussi pro dans l’amateurisme qu’un Yung Lean. Alors alors alors, il faut quoi pour tout démonter ? Une instrue parfaite. Une voix parfaite. L’esthétique, au final, on s’en bat les roustons. C’est le bonus, la cerise, l’happy ending. Et trouver cet équilibre, c’est rare. Très rare. La Ta-Ha, je ne sais pas qui est-elle, je ne sais pas ce qu’elle a fait, mais ce morceau, il est parfait. Demoiselle perdue à Tokyo ? Bordel il ne faut pas chanter comme ça, tu viens de rouler sur le web avec un truc pareil. Il ne manque plus que des néons de toutes les couleurs dans ton clip. Les sirènes droguées, c’est les sirènes que l’on veut entendre en club. Les vraies sirènes. Voix parfaite ? On n’en est pas loin. Instrue parfaite ? Tu rigoles, c’est encore mieux que ça.
Nathan Fake – Glaive
Oh Nathan Fake ! Cela fait longtemps que l’on ne t’avait pas vu ! Comme un vieux pote parti en goguette, que l’on suivait vit fait au grès de ses actualités, à mater ses photos facebook avant de l’oublier la seconde d’après. Ouai Nathan, on te voyait gigoter au loin dans la musique, mais depuis combien de temps n’avait t’on pas pris le temps de se poser pour boire une bière et vraiment faire attention à nos vies respectives ? Depuis quelque années, je faisais semblant de te connaître, mais à part un like par ci, un retweet par là, pas vraiment de contact hein ? Pas de chair, pas de foutre, que du numérique. A bas les hashtags et les notifications, prenons nous la main, et avançons ensemble, même pour une soirée. Faut que je te le dise, tu ne m’avais pas touché depuis un bail Nathan. Et en te voyant débouler, sans trop prévenir, par surprise, en souriant, j’en ai eu les larmes aux yeux. J’ai repensé à nos annnées où je passais mon temps à t’écouter en dansant dans ma chambre de jeune adulte. J’ai repensé à ta musique qui m’avait flingué le cœur. Ton Glaive, c’est un morceau sublime, un truc qui m’a arraché la colonne vertébrale dans sa deuxième moitié. La mélodie. Tout est une histoire de mélodie. Et même si tu es déjà reparti, et que les timelines vont effacer la continuité et l’émotion, au profit de l’immédiateté et de l’instantané, je peux te dire qu’avec Glaive, tu m’as marqué au rouge fer, pour une année entière. Et je ne posterai même pas ça en statut Facebook. Je ne veux pas que tout disparaisse en 5min dans ce maelstrom d’informations. Je veux garder ce moment pour moi. Égoïste ? Sans contestation.
John Tejada – One Step
Voilà que je parle de Nathan Fake, et qu’au même moment, Tejada sort également de l’ombre sans prévenir. Et lui aussi, je faisais semblant de le connaître ces dernières années. Fevrier 2015, c’est la réunion des anciens élèves de la techno racée? Je t’avoue Tejada, j’ai cliqué sur ton clip parce que l’on a un ami commun sur Facebook, et que je savais qu’avec son share, je ne serai pas déçu. J’ai confiance en ce mec. Et j’ai pensé que cela serait une bonne occasion que l’on reprenne contact. Alors j’ai pressé play. Et j’ai pris cette intro d’enfoirée dans la tronche. C’est magique. Ces synthés lunaires, matin à marcher sous la rosée après une nuit blanche, cette mélodie en suspension, qui semble autant venir d’un documentaire sur Saturne que d’un club londonien crasseux et mélancolique, c’est fou. Et puis il y a ce claquement, ce fumigène qui s’ouvre et qui balance le morceau sur quelque chose de plus référencé, mais de toujours aussi beau. Suspension, drogue et lettre de rupture. Ce n’est pas du sombre, c’est de la lumière, blanche. Mais pas celle qui brule les yeux en plein après midi. La lumière douce, apaisante, le luminou rassurant éclairant les coins de chambres. Avec plein de fumée, comme dans le clip de Clement, le contact commun dont je parlais, qui a décidé depuis quelques mois de bruler les rétines du monde avec ses clips de folie. Alors je vais te dire Tejada, les motivation-songs, avec des lyrics comme ça, surtout dans la techno, ce n’est pas trop mon truc. Mais bordel, avec cette première minute trente lumineuse, j’ai qu’une envie : écouter ton album.
